A simple 11″ x 7.5″ x 1.75″ tackle box is all you will need on most fishing trips. Anything more is usually a distraction.
Here is my simple tackle box, including the tackle that I typically take on a wadefishing or kayak fishing trip.

There is enough room for a topwater, multiple swimbaits, a few jerkbaits, a couple of shrimp tails, a spoon, and terminal tackle like swivels, weights, leaders, and hooks. In addition, there is room for a few more items of your choice, like a pack of Berkley Gulps…

Or a bobber…

Or a few extra lures…

Tackle Box Modification
If we flip the tackle box oven and look at the bottom, you’ll notice that I drilled some small holes. The purpose of these holes is to let water out if the tackle box gets submerged while I am wadefishing.

A Little Trick
One thing I like to do with soft plastic baits is layer them so that the tails are touching, like this:

They fit better this way, and it keeps the from piling up too high on one side of the compartment.
Hope you enjoy these ideas for a simple tackle box. That’s all for now.
Have a reel good day,
